Members of the Nova Wellness Centre, an alternative healthcare facility in Accra, have made a donation worth over Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 10.000 ) to the Nyame Dua Children’s Home, Nanakrom-Ashaley Botwe, Accra.
The donation, according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Lead Chiropractor at the Nova Wellness Centre, Dr Naa Ashelley Dordor, is to make life a bit comfortable for the children at the facility.
She said the gesture was made possible by the kind contributions of the numerous members of the centre which was recently adjudged the best SME facility, health service delivery category in Ghana.
Items donated included, foodstuff, toiletries, confectioneries and mattresses, as well as a cash donation of Six Thousand (Ghc 6.000. )
As a clinic that uses chiropractic, nutrition, exercise and massage to treat diseases, Dr Naa said the clinic will also offer free chiropractic healthcare services to children at the orphanage.
Receiving the items on behalf of the children, the founder and caregiver at the orphanage, Mr Paul Anaba noted the donation will go a long way help the inmates at the facility.
“We have a lot of challenges as an orphanage but this donation is a great relief for us. We are grateful to all those who made it a possibility,” he said.
The Nyame Dua Children’s home is recognized as a foster home by the Department of Social Welfare. It was established in 2005, and provides shelter for destitute and abandoned children.
